Refund Policy - The Basics
Having said that, a Refund Policy is a legally binding document that is meant to establish the legal relations between you and your customers regarding how and if you will provide them with a refund. Online businesses selling products are sometimes required (depending on local laws and regulations) to present their product return policy and refund policy. In some jurisdictions, this is needed in order to comply with consumer protection laws. It may also help you avoid legal claims from customers that are not satisfied with the products they purchased.
What to Include in the Refund Policy
Generally speaking, a Refund Policy often addresses these types of issues: the timeframe for asking for a refund; will the refund be full or partial; under which conditions will the customer receive a refund; and much, much more.
Terms and Conditions for Workshop Attendees – In-Person Craft Workshops
These Terms and Conditions apply to all in-person craft workshops hosted by Mini Scale Workshops UK ("we", "us", "our"). By booking a workshop, you ("the participant", "you") agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.
1. Booking, Payment, and Age Requirements
Booking Confirmation: Attendee must provide all of the information as detailed on the booking form. Your workshop booking is only secured once full payment is received by Mini Scale Workshops UK and you receive an automated confirmation email/ticket for the workshop you have booked.

Pricing: All prices are listed in GBP / £. Confirmed bookings will not be affected by future price changes.
Age Requirements: Participants must be 18 years old. For youth workshops, a parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver and remain on-site if required.
Attendee Cancellations: If you cancel at least 30 days before the event, you will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable, but you may transfer your ticket to a friend.

Organisor Cancellations: If we cancel due to low enrollment, illness, venue issues or other reasons, you will receive a full refund. We are not responsible for your travel or accommodation expenses.
2. Arrival and Late Attendance
Punctuality: Workshops start promptly at the scheduled time. Please arrive 10 or 15 minutes early to sign in and settle.

Late Arrival: If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, you may miss essential safety briefings. In this case, we reserve the right to refuse entry without a refund to avoid disrupting the class.
3. Cancellations, Refunds and Transfers
Attendee Cancellations: If you cancel more than 30 days before the event, you will receive a full refund and your place will be made available for another attendee to book on the workshop.
Cancellations 30 days or less are non-refundable, but you may transfer your ticket to a friend. Otherwise, if a kit is suitable for the type of workshop, it can be posted to you (shipping fee will be charged) with instructions.
Tutor Cancellations: If the tutor can deliver kits (posted directly) and run it as a virtual workshop on another date, this is to be arranged directly between the tutor with those attendees who booked on the workshop and determine your fee and payment for this per attendee as your own separate arrangement. The attendee fee would be refunded in full to each attendee, from our platform.
Organisor Cancellations: If we cancel due to low enrollment, illness, venue issues or other reasons, you will receive a full refund or a credit for a future date. We are not responsible for your travel or accommodation expenses.

4. Refreshments, Allergies, and Food Policy
Complimentary Drinks: We provide complimentary tap water, tea (black), coffee and hot water (bring your own preferred/herbal teas) during the workshop. Cows milk will be provided and oat milk as an alternative. No hot meals or catering are provided.

Local Food Policy: Participants are welcome and encouraged to purchase food locally during scheduled breaks or bring their own snacks that do not need kitchen or refrigeration use.

Strict Nut-Free Policy: To protect attendees with severe allergies, our workshop space is a **strict nut-free zone**. You must not bring any peanuts, tree nuts, or products containing nuts into the venue.

Other Allergies: If you have severe environmental or contact allergies (e.g., dairy, latex, specific fibres, or dust), you must notify us in writing when you book or at least 14 days before the workshop so we can take reasonable precautions.
5. Equipment, Tools, and Materials
Mandatory Personal Equipment: To successfully participate in the workshop, it may be that it is suitable for you to bring your own rechargeable battery-powered light with magnifier, such as this model: Robert Dyas PURElite Multi-Use Magnifying Lamp Rechargeable LED. Please ensure these are fully charged prior to arrival, as mains power access to charge/re-charge may be limited.
Mains socket extension leads will be made available for attendees to recharge lights periodically (They will each need to bring USB/other port cable/devices) but not able to have it plugged into the mains during use.

The workshop tutor will also indicate in advance (at least 1 month prior) if there are other personal items you should bring to the workshop.

Optional Personal Equipment: You are welcome to bring your own additional crafting tools or equipment to the workshop if you prefer using your own items.

At Your Own Risk: Any personal items, tools, equipment, lights, or magnifiers brought into the workshop are brought **entirely at your own risk**. Mini Scale Workshops UK is not responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of your personal equipment, nor are we liable for any injuries caused by the use of your own tools.
6. Health, Safety, and Venue Conduct
Physical Risks: Crafting involves physical hazards (e.g., sharp tools, hot glue, chemicals, dust, or heavy equipment). You must follow all safety briefs and instructor guidelines.

Safety Gear: You agree to wear any mandatory protective gear provided (such as aprons, gloves, or safety glasses) and to wear appropriate clothing (e.g., closed-toe shoes).

Conduct and Liability: We maintain a respectful environment. Disruptive or unsafe individuals will be asked to leave without a refund. You are liable for any reckless damage caused to the venue or equipment.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mini Scale Workshops UK shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your attendance at a workshop, including minor injuries sustained from standard crafting tools, unless caused by our gross negligence.
Personal Property: Mini Scale Workshops UK and the venue host accept no liability for any loss, theft, or damage to your personal belongings during the workshop.
7. Media Release and Intellectual Property
Photography & Video: Wifi will be available at the venue. We often take photos and videos during workshops for social media and marketing. Please inform the tutor and the organiser before the class starts if you prefer not to be filmed or photographed.
Social Media: Attendees must not make posts including photos or video of other attendees unless they have given verbal permission to do so.
Copyright: All designs, techniques taught, hand-outs, and patterns provided are for your personal use only. They may not be resold, repackaged, or used for commercial teaching purposes.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
